Does a chair exist if nobody sees it? Relational quantum mechanics says ‘NO! ’

Image
Imagine you sit down and pick up your favorite book. You look at the image on the front cover, run your fingers across the smooth book sleeve, and smell that familiar book smell as you flick through the pages. To you, the book is made up of a range of sensory appearances. But you also expect the book has its own independent existence behind those appearances. So when you put the book down on the coffee table and walk into the kitchen, or leave your house to go to work, you expect the book still looks, feels, and smells just as it did when you were holding it. Expecting objects to have their own independent existence – independent of us, and any other objects – is actually a deep-seated assumption we make about the world. This assumption has its origin in the scientific revolution of the 17th century and is part of what we call the  mechanistic worldview . According to this view, the world is like a giant clockwork machine whose parts are governed by set laws of motion. This

China now leading the quantum computing race

Even though China already demonstrated the Jiuzhang computer with 56 qubit processing power that is a few orders of magnitude faster than  Google’s 53-qubit Sycamore  computer, the versatility side was still dominated by the U.S. scientists. Jiuzhang was developed in 2020 to be the fastest optical circuit supercomputer for a specific set of calculations, so it could not be programmed to perform varied tasks, whereas the Sycamore was overall more practical. Both models achieved the so-called “quantum supremacy”, proving much faster than regular supercomputers that would need years to calcul

A team of physicists from the Harvard-MIT Center for Ultracold Atoms and other universities has developed a special type of quantum computer known as a programmable quantum simulator capable of operating with 256 quantum bits, or “qubits.” The system marks a major step toward building large-scale quantum machines that could be used to shed light on a host of complex quantum processes and eventually help bring about real-world breakthr

Will we ever be able to do quantum teleportation?

Image
Is teleportation possible? Could a baseball ball transport radio waves travel through buildings, bounce around the corner, and change back into a baseball? Oddly enough, thanks to quantum mechanics, the answer might actually be. sort of. Here is the trick: the baseball itself couldn't be sent by radio but all the information about it could. In quantum physics, atoms and electrons are interpreted as a collection of distinct properties, for example position, momentum and intrinsic spin.  The values of this property configure the particle. giving it a quantum state identity. If two electrons have the same quantum states, they're identical. In a literal sense, our baseball is defined by collective quantum states resulting from its many atoms. If this quantum state information could be read in Boston and around the world, atoms for the same chemical elements could have this information imprinted on them in Bangalore and be carefully directed to assemble,

Quantum Physics was only the first piece of my puzzle - Laurent Simons

Image
While most kids are still learning the basics of life in their pre-teens, that's not the case for Laurent Simon. When he was younger, even younger than now, Laurent Simon was raised by his grandparents. They were telling their mother and father he seemed very smart. The nine year old has IQ. That puts him just under Einstein and Stephen Hawking, but above about 99.9 of everyone else, just earned his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Antwerp.  At age 11, he says he wants to use his rapidly increasing knowledge to make humans immortal. He not only received a bachelor's degree, but he received it summa laude meaning with the greatest honor he did in just a year, which would normally take a regular human three years ago. He told the Dutch daily the telegraph that it didn't matter to him if he was the youngest person to receive a bachelor's degree. It was all about gaining knowledge for him. He completed his high school education in just 1.5

Why spaceX built Stainless Steel starships?

Image
What is a starship?  Starship of all the space related travel of modern times has been interplanetary and accomplishing interstellar travel will be a tremendous breakthrough for our species. Interstellar travel will provide answers and solutions to the future of our existence. A starship can be classified as a spacecraft designed for interstellar travel. It must be able to travel at speed faster than light or make use of a shortcut as provided by wormholes to reach a destination far away from earth. Spacex is actively working on the first interplanetary ship starship. The pioneering generation of starships will accomplish much less than interstellar travel. Nonetheless, it provides a foundation that is crucial to reach the ultimate goal initially known as a big falcon rocket. Elon Musk announced a change of craft feeling that the name is more suited for the end goal and future versions of starships. What is the purpose of starships?  The intention of starship is to aid huma

He is my strength I am His strength

Image
The context in which he was my strength  I came into my life when I went to a cinema hall to watch a movie called Vikramarkudu directed by SS Rajamouli, which many times I thought would undoubtedly realize my own strength and take a certain turn. I was so excited to see the movie as a child and my Dad was tired of doing his work all week. There he rests for the whole week on Sunday. I was amazed to see the design of the weapon used by the hero in that movie. For Dad, watching that movie was so boring. He brought the ticket just for my wish. Sometimes in my childhood I was really confident that I was more powerful than protagonists in films at that time. And am also getting ready to plan to make my new advanced weapon to save the world from evils, as Ravi Teja gets his variety of mechanical weapons that rotate at the bottom. I looked around where could get that weapon and finally found one rod that seemed like a previously mentioned weapon and decided to take that along with me. so l can
